Let's not beat around the bush here. The music on this album is in the Italian symphonic prog tradition. A tradition strongly influenced by ELP/Genesis and then merged with the local folk and pop music. It is an own genre called Rock Progressivo Italiano (RPI). A lot of great music and albums has been the result. L Uomo Trasparente should be added to this list.
L Uomo Trasparente is most of all a continuation and a sound wise brush up of the 1970s Rock Progressivo Italiano sound and tradition. We are living in 2012 now and so is this album too. The sound is excellent. The music has a lot of moog, mellotrons, piano and synths which is floating as a carpet over a rich Italian musical landscape. Add the guitars too and some excellent vocals. I do not know the name of the vocalists here. But they are all great and really deserve credits for this album. I believe though that the vocalist is Alessandro Corvaglia and an unnnamed female vocalist. Correct me if I am wrong (which Maurizio has just done. He is the vocalist. Excellent job, Maurizio !!!!) .
The drums by Maurizio di Tollo is also great and ditto for the bass.
The music is both majestic and pastoral at the same time. Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso, Le Orme and Premiata Forneria Marconi is good references.
All songs here are really great with the majestic La Poesia Della Carne being the best song. L Uomo Trasparente is a classic Rock Progressivo Italiano album, bound to really please all fans of this genre.
